About this event

While investigating family histories, some people feel compelled to connect more deeply to their roots. Some decide to apply for dual citizenship in an ancestral land, whether or not they plan to move. In any case, the process is challenging and requires good genealogy research skills.

Each of the three panelists have either begun or completed the process of obtaining dual citizenship. Michael Clarke of the Irish American Heritage Museum will speak on Irish citizenship; Lisa Chase, who successfully obtained Italian citizenship, will speak on her experiences; and Margaret Lanoue will speak on the current challenges of becoming a Canadian citizen. Although this discussion will focus on Canadian, Irish, and Italian citizenship, the lessons learned can be applied to any nation.

Meet at the CPH Library or join via Zoom. See details at https://www.cdgsny.org/ to register beginning on October 1st.
