About this event
WAMM Jam Acoustic welcomes a more laid-back vibe than our electric jams. With a focus on acoustic instruments and percussion, amplification is kept to a minimum.
Come jam out with us in a collaborative and supportive environment! Women can bring a song or two to share, but it's not required. Vocal mics are allowed so singers can be heard without straining. A keyboard with reasonable volume control may be used since no piano is available in the space.
This jam is open to women/femme identifying musicians of all skill levels. Please RSVP so we can ensure enough room for participants and set up what is needed! The format is a round robin where each person suggests songs or chord progressions to play with the group.
It is not required to suggest a song - you can pass if you just want to play along with others' songs. Usually there is enough time to go through the group twice. The goal is to have a supportive, creative, listening environment where we learn from each other!
Jams are limited to 10 participants, and RSVP is required. When you RSVP you will be asked what instrument(s) you are playing so we can arrange the right equipment for the jam session.
A $5 reservation fee will secure your spot in the jam. This fee supports the jam host for organizing the session. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
RSVP is important to ensure we have enough people to hold the jam. If fewer than 4 people RSVP, we will cancel the session, and your reservation fee will be refunded. Cancelations must be submitted at least 48 hours (two days) before the event date, or your refund will be forfeited.
We thank 344 2nd Street for supporting the WAMM Acoustic Jams and encourage you to check out their other programs!
