About this event
All are welcome to join us for a talk from J. Andrés Melendez titled: "The Nano Code of Aging: From Redox Stress to RNA Therapeutics." Explore how nanoscale redox stress drives aging and how RNA therapeutics may restore health and tissue function.
Dr. J. Andrés Melendez is a SUNY Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Nanoscale Science & Engineering at the University at Albany College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering (CNSE). He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University at Albany and has built an internationally recognized research program focused on redox biology, aging, inflammation, and reactive oxygen species in disease. He is an elected Fellow of the Society for Redox Biology and Medicine (F-SfRBM). His work has advanced understanding of cellular senescence, cancer, and age-related disorders, resulting in more than 10,000 citations and numerous highly influential publications. In addition to his research accomplishments, Professor Melendez is a dedicated educator and scientific leader committed to advancing interdisciplinary biomedical research and workforce development.
Doors open at 5:15 p.m. Registration preferred, not required.
