- ➤ Ophelia's, a local live music venue, redefines late-night entertainment by offering quality food, handcrafted cocktails and energetic performances (including top bands and DJs) and invites guests to book tables or order online for a vibrant night out. WRGB
- ➤ Bethlehem's first Hindu temple, the Albany Sanatani Mandir, will host a community event on Jan. 24 as festivities begin with puja services at 12:30 (puja). Spotlight News

- ➤ At the Talking Book and Braille Library in the New York State Museum, director Shawn Lemieux and her team mail braille books and e-readers to visually impaired New Yorkers living beyond New York City. - ➤ The University at Albany softball team was picked fourth in the 2026 America East Preseason Coaches' Poll while Taylor Quinn earned the only team spot on the Preseason All-Conference Team (she is a standout from Latham). - ➤ On Jan. 20, Section 2 boys' wrestling championships were held at Shenendehowa and Salem with teams competing from 4:30 p.m. for spots at the Jan. 31 NYSPHSAA dual meet championships at SRC Arena — Shenendehowa led Division 1 and Salem/Cambridge topped Division 2 action. Times Union
- ➤ UAlbany senior Frankie Gonzalez was named America East Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after setting a personal shot-put record—placing him fourth in the conference and 20th in the Northeast; the track team will return on Jan. 24 at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational.
