- ➤ Troy Public Library just finished a $1.6M HVAC upgrade that ended numerous summer closures by keeping the branch open during hot weather. The project was funded by a tax levy increase, state grants, and federal funds, and officials say it offers a cool refuge to the community. WAMC

- ➤ Amtrak has launched its limited-edition Trak Suit — a tracksuit designed by a local fashion student for NextGen Acela riders — that is available online for $279 until Monday. Times Union
- ➤ Cardona’s Market and New Way Lunch were added to New York’s Historic Business Preservation Registry for operating more than 50 years. Assemblyman Phil Steck and Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner nominated the restaurants, and Cardona’s Market was recognized yesterday at its Latham location — a nod to generations of local, family-run businesses. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello has extended the snow emergency until Monday as crews clear more streets after a heavy snowstorm. The city added over 10 streets to its removal routes and has collected nearly $41,000 in fees from towing and parking tickets so far. WRGB
- ➤ After a heavy snowstorm, over 300 cars were towed on Thursday from AC’s Towing and Recovery (Montgomery Street) as residents were confused by unclear parking instructions; the tow company charged between $150 and $189 per car. City officials said they may adjust future messaging to better inform residents during emergencies. Times Union
