- ➤ Meteorologist Reid Kisselback announced Tuesday that he will leave WNYT after more than six years, with Friday as his final day, as he accepted a new job out-of-state to better support his growing family. Times Union
- ➤ Local seniors can join free weekly virtual tours hosted by Albany Guardian Society and funded by the New York State Office for the Aging. The program lets participants explore places like Athens from a conference room — a smart way to overcome travel limits and ease isolation. WAMC

- ➤ Newly released emails show that Union College trustee Brad Karp exchanged friendly messages with Jeffrey Epstein & discussed surveillance of a woman in connection with a legal case and film screening favors for his son. Karp later expressed regret for his interactions as the college declined to comment. Times Union
- ➤ Bethlehem Central School District voters will cast ballots Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the high school in Gym A on a $60 million plan to renovate classrooms, add air conditioning, and repair seven schools; if approved, construction begins April 2027. WRGB
- ➤ Jason Corace, UAlbany’s Game Center director, appeared on WTEN’s ‘Bits + Boards’ podcast on Feb. 3 to discuss his vision for the college’s new game design and development programs at the informatics department, which also feature courses in music, art, and cybersecurity to prepare students for the booming gaming industry. - ➤ Professor Andrei Lapenas from UAlbany explained that the loud cracking sounds in cold weather are frost cracks caused by water expanding (a frequent phenomenon in harsher climates) rather than literal explosions; such events are rare locally and rarely harm trees. University at Albany

- ➤ The city’s economic development arm is reviewing proposals for redeveloping the ‘Parking Lot District’ with plans for a new neighborhood built parcel by parcel.
