- ➤ An Albany emergency shelter is preparing to serve more people during the weekend freeze. The shelter (on South Pearl Street) is at capacity with up to 300 people and will host a Super Bowl watch party with free food on Sunday. NewsChannel 13

- ➤ Crystal Pratt experienced shopping difficulties at Walmart today when staff repeatedly asked her to leave because her service dog Bella was off‐leash despite valid documentation — Albany Police responded and stayed until she finished shopping. WRGB
- ➤ National Grid warns customers not to let scammers posing as company representatives pressure them into making immediate payments through wire transfers or prepaid cards. - ➤ Schenectady County will break ground this spring on the $125 million Capital Region Aquatic Center (146,825 sqft) that will include an Olympic-size 50-meter pool and training facilities for athletes and students. - ➤ Debra Murray, longtime Guilderland tennis coach & physical education teacher, was recognized by the USTA Eastern Conference with the 2025 Virginia and Chuck Landis High School Coach of the Year award on Jan. 30.
