ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 58-year-old hiker from Mechanicville was flown to hospital after spending two days lost in the High Peaks on Thursday when a 20-person rescue team found him on a frozen riverbed in blowing snow, and he is expected to recover after treatment for mild hypothermia & frostbite. WRGB
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ State lawmakers propose a bill that would require a 30-minute recess for K-5 students on school days over five hours and sometimes for sixth graders. The proposal mandates schools supply play equipment for outdoor activities when weather allows — recess cannot be taken away as punishment. WRGB
- ➤ Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls and Green Tech High School are joining the 'I Can Achieve a Nursing Degree' program to boost diversity in nursing by offering hands-on training and career exposure.
