Regional grocery stores in the Capital Region are hosting a pet food drive (Pet Food and Supply Drive) to support animal shelters until April 30th, with donation stations at every Market 32 and Price Chopper.

Some stores will back the Capital District Humane Association while others will support local agencies.

The Shaker Road - Loudonville Fire Department responded on Sunday afternoon to a report that a dryer caught fire in Ryan Hall at Siena College; the building's sprinklers activated to contain the fire until crews used a water can to extinguish it.

Saratoga Springs Police said Michael Collins (27) died after his roommate Brendan Carl (facing charges of second-degree manslaughter and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon) shot him with a BB gun at their Warren Street home on Sunday morning, and Carl remains in custody.
