- ➤ On April 7, police closed a portion of Route 9 near Latham Circle in both directions after a pedestrian crash led to a damaged sedan and a white sheet being seen in the road just before 6:30 a.m. WRGB
- ➤ Colonie Police said that at about 5 a.m. on April 7 a pedestrian named Felipa Martinez-Garcia, 49, died on Loudon Road near Troy-Schenady Road after being struck by a vehicle—police added that the driver stopped and is cooperating with the investigation. Spotlight News

- ➤ Victoria’s Secret and PINK in Crossgates Mall have announced they will merge into one store on the mall’s upper level near the Funny Bone Comedy Club, with both stores operating normally until a grand re-opening is planned. Temporary closures for Victoria’s Secret will occur on an upcoming Monday and Tuesday and again from May 5 to May 8 — with the re-opening date still to be set. ABC NEWS 10

- ➤ Timothy Berry, the attorney for one of the men convicted in the killing of Javon Ward last summer, was removed from an Albany County courtroom after repeatedly making outbursts about gun violence — referencing US oligarchs and the war in Gaza — which led state Supreme Court Justice Thomas Marcelle to order a contempt hearing. - ➤ Emoni Ellison, 23, of Albany was arrested on Sunday, April 6 at 7:35 p.m. for intentionally striking a 29-year-old on Jennings Drive—she faced charges of second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident while receiving treatment at Albany Medical Center. - ➤ The New York State Department of Labor will host its annual Dr. King Career Fair on Thursday at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center – a one-day event connecting job seekers with 170 local businesses while offering services like resume reviews, live workshops, and a virtual reality career center. - ➤ Carrols Corporation sued the Town of Guilderland for more than $1,400,000 after a failed 36-inch drain pipe caused a large flooded depression at its Burger King on Western Avenue, forcing a six-month drive-thru closure that cost over $400,000 in lost revenue — the town says it does not own the pipe and is not responsible.
