  • Crisafulli Brothers acquired Kool Temp Heating and Cooling— a locally owned HVAC business with over 40 years of service— to expand its home services in the Capital Region. The deal is expected to improve response times and offer more options to customers.  NewsChannel 13

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Albany Symphony Orchestra will perform Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 featuring pianist Garrick Ohlsson, Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations, and Joel Thompson’s new tone poem at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 — Maestro David Alan Miller will preview the concerts.  WAMC
  • The New York State Museum celebrated its 190th anniversary (Wednesday) in Albany by unveiling prehistoric treasures and highlighting its 16-million-artifact collection that began in 1836.  WRGB
  • Two-year-old one-eyed beaver Bo, rescued by Wild for Life, is making waves online with over a million followers. The animal ambassador will appear as guest of honor at the Beaver Ball in Saratoga Springs (she also served as ring bearer at her rescuer's wedding).  WRGB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials in Menands announced that speed limits on village streets will drop from 30 mph to 25 mph to improve safety for pedestrians and drivers. Updated signage will be installed by May 1 (excluding major roadways), and the Menands Police Department will enforce the new limits.  WRGB
