- ➤ Local card dealers and collectors will gather Saturday at the Capital Center in Albany for the Capital Region Card Show — over 80 vendors will set up 130 tables to trade, buy and sell sports cards, Pokemon cards and autographed memorabilia as the event celebrates its anniversary this month. - ➤ The New York GOP headquarters in Albany was vandalized overnight when swastikas were taped to its doors and windows—police launched an investigation into the hate-fueled act that party leaders condemned as an attack on civil discourse and decency. WRGB
- ➤ Albany man Jah-Lah Vanderhorst, 30, who fatally stabbed 17‑year‑old Tyler Rhodes in 2011 at Hoffman Park when he was 16, has been denied youthful offender status and will serve a full 25‑year sentence—courts cited his record of 24 prison violations and his lack of remorse. WRGB
- ➤ Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon said that 44-year-old David Colon, who was found with 552 grams of cocaine and 171 grams of fentanyl at 98 Lexington Ave on November 25th, 2024, pleaded guilty to drug possession and intent to sell—he will be sentenced on June 13 to nine years in state prison with three years of post-release supervision. - ➤ Albany County District Attorney Lee Kindlon recapped his first 100 days in office on April 17 at his downtown office, saying his team uncovered delinquent grant funds, opened 675 felony cases since January 1, and sent 58 people to prison for gun possession — establishing new bureaus for restorative justice and street crimes. Over the next 100 days, his office will focus on organized retail theft in Colonie, Guilderland and Bethlehem to curb criminal activity in the county. WAMC
