  • Four Central New York restaurants are finalists in the Best NY Burger competition, and a panel of anonymous judges will evaluate their burgers on taste, presentation, and doneness. The winning burger will be named on May 13 in Albany.  WRGB

  • Caroline Chen, a lawyer for groups suing the state to enforce the 2019 Climate Law, said the suit was meant to ensure the law’s current mandates rather than change it after Governor Hochul proposed modifications during the budget process.  WRGB

  • Albany will scale back seasonal hiring at the Capital Hills at Albany Golf Course as Mayor Dorcey Applyrs proposes cuts to cope with a growing budget deficit, though the course stays open for the season (a $15 million deficit last fiscal year is expected to rise to $22 million next).  WAMC

  • The Great Danes broke records Friday at the Bobbi Palma Spring Classic at UAlbany Track Field Complex, with a 4x100m relay and 100m hurdles effort that pushed a senior into the top ten; the team will race at the Penn Relays (Apr. 23 to 25) and Capital District Classic (Apr. 24).  University at Albany
  • The University at Albany baseball team overcame an eight-run gap to win by a score of 13 to 10 against Siena on Friday at Connors Park in Loudonville. The Great Danes will host a doubleheader today (first pitch at 1:00 p.m.) as they look to build on their momentum.  University at Albany
  • At UAlbany Track & Field Complex, the Great Danes held their annual home meet on Friday to celebrate 19 seniors; Anthony Couch and Kyaire Lawson broke the 400m hurdles record while Tooni Ogunyeye set a new 100m dash record and Samir Gardner tied for eighth-best in the long jump.  University at Albany
