EDUCATION NEWS

  • An ad hoc committee reviewing the Student Association's deal with Dippikill Inc. held a public forum on Friday at the Campus Center to hear alumni concerns about selling the 1,000-acre Adirondack retreat, a move that would require a two-thirds Senate vote if approved. The meeting came after a settlement with eight employees and a $250,000 deficit and explored ideas to work with UAlbany—an option many alumni support—so the camp can remain part of our community.  Albany Student Press
  • UAlbany students and faculty held a protest on April 17 after international student visas were terminated and the university offered little information—calling for the campus to be declared a sanctuary and for similar action across SUNY. Government officials including State Senator Pat Fahy and Assemblymember Gabriella Romero joined the protest and said they would work with state lawmakers to support noncitizen students.  Albany Student Press

ENVIRONMENT NEWS
