- ➤ On Wednesday, MVP Arena installed a new solar panel array on its parking garage roof (in honor of Earth Day). The panels will generate over 1M kWh in their first year to power more than 1,000 homes and save Albany County over $150,000 while 52 new electric vehicle charging stations will be added by the end of the month. - ➤ A young black bear climbed into a tree along Raymo Street + Second Avenue early Tuesday, Apr. 22, drawing a crowd and blocking streets before Albany police and state wildlife officials tranquilized it and released it back into its natural habitat. WRGB
- ➤ UAlbany officials plan to rebuild the campus heating system — a move intended to cut fossil fuel use and help the university reach net-zero emissions after SUNY reduced greenhouse gases by 40%. University at Albany
