- ➤ Indian Ladder Farms rebuilt its doughnut-making system with a new Belshaw Donut Robot Mark V after a fall fire and celebrated its 30th Baby Animal Days with family and community support. - ➤ Dozens of Capital Region veterans took off early Wednesday from Albany International Airport for a free trip to Washington, D.C. offered by Patriot Flight—serving heroes from World War II, pre-Korean War, Korean War, Vietnam War, and Cold War eras—and they visited war monuments, Arlington National Cemetery and other historic sites before returning to Albany around 11 p.m. with a welcome home ceremony. - ➤ Authorities arrested two Albany men for felony firearm possession following a narcotics complaint near Central Ave and Colvin Ave; investigators said Shareem Jackson (28) and Daniel Jackson (53) were found with a loaded ghost gun equipped with a high-capacity magazine and both were arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on April 23. Assemblymember Brian Cunningham said the bill could add up to 60,000 new units — while local officials worry it may limit community input. WAMC
- ➤ Ulster County officials are reviewing security at the county office in Kingston after a school board trustee posted a bathroom photo of himself holding a pocketknife after a meeting on April 15. - ➤ The Ida Yarbrough Tenant Union protested at the Albany Housing Authority on Wednesday because the community room was locked and a coordinator was fired without notice—actions they say hurt their right to organize.
