- ➤ A pit bull mix named Omarion was found abandoned on Elm Street around 7 a.m. on May 1 after a neighbor noticed him tied to a home's railing; he was taken to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (police are now investigating the case). WRGB
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The New York State Museum in Albany is restoring a 1930 FDR poster used in his campaign as governor to preserve local history. Conservation expert Cher Schneider cleans and repairs the damaged artifact — keeping the piece intact for future generations. WRGB
- ➤ Yesterday, WAMC hosted Food Friday with Wendy Grossman from Wendy's Vegetarian Kitchen who discussed plant-based cooking using locally sourced ingredients on a 2pm show (listener calls were welcomed). Her work supports local farms and features her award-winning Nutty Cheese. WAMC

- ➤ A new analysis revealed that from 2019-2024 rising paychecks could not keep up with 23.1% inflation in many counties, with areas like Tioga and Rockland reporting declines in real household income while others posted gains; State Comptroller DiNapoli stressed the need for more well-paying jobs. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At Albany Academy, students walked on Friday, May 8 to raise money for WASH initiatives that help provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene to a rural school in Nicaragua. Donations continue to be accepted to support the effort. WRGB

- ➤ Gov. Kathy Hochul announced 27 downtown projects in Catskill, Athens and Greenwich funded through state economic development programs today.
