- ➤ More than 7,500 runners and walkers from nearly 450 local organizations gathered at Empire State Plaza for the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge. Jared Lamson won the men's race in 17:06 and Karen Bertasso won the women's in 20:05—donations raised nearly $24,000 to benefit Unity House and Girls on the Run Capital Region. WRGB

- ➤ Authorities on Wednesday rescued a vulnerable adult reported missing from Berlin in Rensselaer County after a coordinated search by multiple agencies—including law enforcement, EMT-trained deputies, and others—who brought him to safety and provided medical attention. WRGB
- ➤ A Rotterdam man — Anthony Lewis Jr. — admitted killing his mother and stepfather at their Fern Avenue home around the Fourth of July holiday in 2023, and a jury quickly convicted him on two counts of first-degree murder and other charges — his trial lasting less than 45 minutes — with sentencing set for July 9 as he faces life without parole. - ➤ A Rotterdam man, Anthony Lewis Jr, 32, was convicted of stabbing his mother and stepfather on July 4, 2023 after DNA matches, phone records, and license plate data connected him to the case — he will be sentenced on July 9. ABC NEWS 10

- ➤ UAlbany announced on May 15 that four professors — Nathaniel Cady, David Smith, Mathias Vuille and Kehe Zhu — were named SUNY Distinguished Professors, the highest academic honor awarded solely by the SUNY Board of Trustees. The title recognizes their significant research and teaching contributions that have boosted the university’s academic reputation. University at Albany

- ➤ Mayoral candidate Dorcey Applyrs said Dan Cerutti is being bought by outside donors—big pharma and hedge funds—that raise questions about outside influence in Albany; Cerutti defended his PAC by saying his donors are longtime local supporters who want to see the city improve. Times Union
- ➤ The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District launched its new Capital Wayfinding Program with 69 new signs to help people navigate downtown Albany—replacing old signs while adding kiosks, guides and an Ambassador Program to share the city’s history. The project uses $643,620 from the American Rescue Plan Act and $111,000 from the Albany Parking Authority—funds that will complete the work in a few weeks. ABC NEWS 10
- ➤ On May 13, New York Attorney General Letitia James and 19 other state AGs sued the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in a federal court in Rhode Island—asking a judge to stop new rules that tie disaster relief funds to immigration checks.
