CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Authorities arrested 18-year-old Jordan Johnson from the Albany area and 20-year-old David Larose from Troy on murder and weapons charges in connection with the Fort Ann shooting that killed two 19-year-olds near Clay Hill Road, with Johnson scheduled for a hearing on May 30 at 1:30 p.m. and Larose set to appear on May 29 at 1:30 p.m.—both suspects pleaded not guilty. - ➤ Family members of 24-year-old Jamier Allen held a vigil today in Albany as police continue to investigate his murder after his body was found in the woods at the end of Boneau Street on March 26, and his relatives demand justice and answers. NewsChannel 13
- ➤ Albany police are investigating an alleged shooting incident that happened Saturday morning near First Street and Lexington Avenue—officers arrived around 4:30 a.m. to find a 38-year-old man with a facial injury from shattered glass while he sat in his vehicle, and he was treated at Albany Medical Center. - ➤ Researchers at the New York State Museum are preparing an exhibit about an 18th-century gunboat built in Philadelphia around 1775 that helped defend the Delaware Bay during the American Revolution; the ship returned to New York in April and will permanently be housed at the museum. The Revolutionary War celebration exhibit will debut next year — local visitors will get a rare look at its restored timber and clues like a British military button. WRGB
- ➤ Workers at the State Museum in Albany are reassembling a Revolutionary War gunboat found during One World Trade Center construction 15 years ago—14 years of conservation at Texas A&M have set the stage for a permanent exhibit that will anchor next year's United States Semiquincentennial celebration. The team expects most of the ship to be joined by mid or late June, allowing local visitors to watch the restoration process. Times Union
