- ➤ A Montgomery County 16-year-old was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree attempted assault after he allegedly attacked a staff member at Adirondack Academy (2755 State Highway 67 in Mohawk), hitting him in the head repeatedly until he lost consciousness; emergency services later transported the injured staff member to Albany Medical Center (via LifeNet Helicopter). - ➤ An Athens man was accused of filming female attendees at Saratoga Race Course on Saturday and became aggressive when confronted — he faces charges of unlawful surveillance, mischief, and obstruction of breathing and is set for arraignment on June 26 at 9 a.m. as the investigation continues. - ➤ State lawmakers introduced legislation that would build a permanent Holocaust memorial at Empire State Plaza—shifting plans from the original Niskayuna site approved by planning officials. Daniel Dembling, president of the Capital District Jewish Holocaust Memorial, said he welcomed support from state leaders and more than fifty Jewish organizations as efforts continue to raise funds for the project.
