CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Devin Zielinski is set to be sentenced today at 9:30 a.m. at the Rensselaer County Courthouse — he defrauded an 86-year-old man of over $200,000 by posing as his caregiver, neglecting bill payments that led to foreclosure. WRGB
- ➤ An Albany man, Saul Morales-Garcia, 40, was arrested on Tuesday for attempted murder, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second-degree menacing after deputies rushed to Lodge Street at 9:55 p.m.—he allegedly charged at a victim with a knife which made the victim retreat, and he will be arraigned Wednesday. - ➤ A Schenectady man, Tavio T. Fredericks, 47, was stopped on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. near Central Avenue and Rawson Street in Albany for a traffic violation and fled before being caught; police recovered 97 grams of cocaine, fentanyl, and a .22-caliber revolver — he faces charges for criminal possession of a weapon, possession of controlled substances, obstructing governmental administration, and traffic violations — and he will be arraigned Wednesday morning in Albany City Criminal Court.
