  • Maggie Blodgett from Petey’s Legacy teamed with foster parents Chris and Jason Trefellti and granddaughter Haley to help rehome pitbulls Thorne and Fern in the capital region. The adoption clinic will be held on July 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Healthy Pet Center—where families can meet adoptable pets—and will help find furever homes.  WRGB

  • An 88-year-old Army veteran, Abram Seeberger — who dropped out of Columbia High School in the 1950s to join the Army — received an honorary diploma through the state’s Operation Recognition Program during a ceremony at the Melvin Roads American Legion Post in East Greenbush, with over 150 family members and fellow veterans watching the event.  Times Union

  • A state commission of health experts in Albany will advise Governor Hochul on fixing poor hospital quality and long-term care by recommending changes to hospital funding— a report expected in several weeks highlights serious safety issues and financial challenges.   • Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara is hosting an informational session today at 6 p.m. at the Stockade Inn to teach families essential tick safety tips during Lyme Disease Prevention Month amid rising tick-borne illnesses.
