CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 17-year-old from Albany was charged with attempted murder, criminal use of a firearm and assault after he shot a victim in the head and fired at a vehicle during a shooting on Old Hickory Drive on Friday, July 25 at about 2:00 p.m.—authorities say he is held at a juvenile secure detention facility. - ➤ Police in Cohoes responded to an incident yesterday near Main Street and Remsen Street when a person inside shot at state troopers who then returned fire; officials said no troopers were injured and there is no public threat as the investigation continues. ABC NEWS 10

- ➤ Hills Park DBGM LLC, based in Albany, won a $5,000 A Week For Life scratch‐off prize with a $5 million payout when a winning ticket sold at King Kullen in New Hyde Park was claimed last week — the company chose a one‐time payment of $2,238,986 after required withholdings. The New York Lottery said five top prizes remain for the current game — players can check their tickets online. ABC NEWS 10

- ➤ New York is investing $200M to revitalize Albany's urban core and local officials are holding workshops to gather public input on spending the funds. Gov. Hochul led the first workshop as part of her Championing Albany's Potential initiative — residents can join future sessions to share their ideas. WRGB
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Albany Medical Center nurses ratified a new four-year contract that gives a pay raise from $33 to $40 an hour and additional benefits such as increased tuition reimbursements—98 percent of about 1,600 to 1,800 nurses voted in favor after nearly 18 months of talks. Hospital president Dennis McKenna said the agreement strengthens recruitment and retention, setting a new standard in the region. ABC NEWS 10
