- ➤ Troy Police are investigating an explosion outside a home on O’Neil St. near McClellandland Avenue that injured two children who were taken to the hospital Sunday evening while detectives gathered evidence in the area. NewsChannel 13

- ➤ Watervliet motorcyclist Christopher Dilallo, 41, crashed on Friday morning on 19th Street when his bike hit a turning vehicle and was ejected, and he died Sunday morning in Syracuse—police say the investigation is ongoing. ABC NEWS 10

- ➤ An 'Out of Reach' report by Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress found that housing costs have sharply outpaced wages in the Hudson Valley since 2020—two working adults sharing rent in Westchester County now pay over 30 percent of their income for a two-bedroom apartment. WAMC

- ➤ Assemblymember Angelo Santabarbara introduced the Utility Rate Hike Legislative Review Act to let lawmakers review National Grid’s rate increases, which will raise most households' bills by about $600 over three years—he believes this measure will ease the burden on working families. - ➤ State senators said they will investigate New York’s rising home insurance premiums as more frequent natural disasters drive up costs for property owners—planning to hold a hearing later this year and request data from the Department of Financial Services to understand why profits remain high. - ➤ New York is increasing law enforcement patrols and sobriety tests on roads until September 1 — Governor Kathy Hochul announced the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign to target impaired and reckless drivers using marked and unmarked vehicles. WRGB
- ➤ The Albany County Sheriff’s Office will host a gun buyback event today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Board of Elections in Albany’s South End.
