  • The Barber Lounge in Albany is hosting a back-to-school event that gives free haircuts, manicures, and school supplies to children to ease family burdens. The shop expects to serve about one hundred kids this year while local volunteers, community donors, and authorities add food, books, and safety talks + fun activities to the event.  WRGB

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A pedestrian died after a car hit them on the Thruway in Rotterdam on Saturday night, and New York State Police said all westbound lanes were closed until 1:30 a.m. Sunday for an investigation.  ABC NEWS 10

CRIME NEWS

  • Albany police investigated an alleged shooting on Quail Street on Saturday when they found a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his calf in his car near Hudson Avenue — he was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.  ABC NEWS 10
  • Albany Police investigated a shooting on Quail Street Saturday at 6:45 p.m.—officers found a 22-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his calf inside his vehicle and he was treated on scene before being taken to Albany Medical Center, and the investigation remains ongoing.  WRGB
  • A Nassau man named Patrick Walsh is charged with several felonies after he took money from victims in Bethlehem, Berne and Schodack without giving the promised goods and services—causing nearly $50,000 in losses—and he remains in Albany County jail without bail.  Spotlight News

  • Lark Out Loud 2025 will take place on Sept. 20 in Albany and will feature '80s rock, '90s hits, and classic funk — organizers met with Jill Konopka on Sunday morning to discuss the festival.  WRGB
