- ➤ Troy’s oldest eatery, Manory’s Restaurant, received a $50,000 historic preservation grant to cover building improvements and operational expenses—about $40,000 will go to work like painting and mortar repair. Co-owner Connor McGrath said renovations will be completed before next spring so the restaurant can continue serving locals. Times Union
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Paul Muldoon and Rogue Oliphant will perform at Cherry Valley Artworks on August 30 at 7:30 PM—showcasing their new single ahead of their album Visible from Space, which will release on September 12. - ➤ Three local fairs—Columbia County Fair, Great Schaghticoke Fair, and Fonda Fair—have been open since August 27 and will run through September 1. - ➤ Animator Evens Angulo-Duvil has scheduled screenings of his animated documentary The Aura of Upstate for Sunday at Kickback Studios in Troy and for Sept. 27 at Moon & River Cafe in Schenectady—his film pays tribute to the creative voices of the region.
