ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fire on Sixth Avenue in Troy displaced seven people, and volunteers provided financial help for shelter, food, and clothing while investigators probed the cause. NewsChannel 13
- ➤ An early morning fire in Troy left seven residents displaced and firefighters rescued three cats from a home near 6th Ave and 103rd St—no injuries were reported as the building was heavily damaged, the American Red Cross helped the displaced, and the investigation continued. WRGB

- ➤ Reptile enthusiasts visited the Capital District Reptile Expo at Albany Capital Center on Sunday to see lizards, snakes, and other exotic pets. More than 180 vendors filled over 80,000 square feet and the expo will return next May—offering an even larger variety of species and care items. WRGB
- ➤ Tom Dittus in Lake George owns a fleet of three Ford Country Squire station wagons styled like the Family Truckster from National Lampoon's Vacation — he has added custom plates like GRZWOLD and ANT EDNA and drives the cars to events where they attract many fans. He built the fleet as a creative tribute to the movie that still brings smiles to viewers today. Times Union

- ➤ The town of Hunter declared a state of emergency amid severe drought conditions and increased wildfire risks just after midnight on Sunday—Town Supervisor Sean Mahoney said the order bans outdoor burning except for food cooking and will remain until October 21. ABC NEWS 10
- ➤ The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation warns residents that warm, dry weather has raised wildfire risk across the state with many areas at high or moderate danger. - ➤ The Albany VA Stratton Medical Center and the Village of Colonie are partnering to host the Stand Down for Veterans event on Saturday, October 4th at 3 Thunder Road in Colonie—this event will offer key services such as medical, dental, legal, and housing assistance to veterans at risk of homelessness.
