- ➤ UAlbany’s College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity has been named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency – the award will last for the next five years and shows the program is ready to train students in real-world cyber defense tactics. - ➤ GE Aerospace partnered with local groups — the University at Albany, NY CREATES, MiSci and local school districts — to launch its Next Engineers program that will prepare 4,000 students aged 13 to 18 for engineering studies over four years; the program will begin in 2026 at the GE Aerospace Research Center in Niskayuna and aims to strengthen the local pipeline of engineering talent.
