  • For 23 years, the annual 'The Way We Were' car show in Ballston Spa has drawn more than 500 vintage cars, inviting locals to remember the past inspired by a 1970s film that featured spots in the area — a cherished nod to local history.  ABC NEWS 10

  • Plug Power announced today that CEO Andy Marsh will step down in March as part of a long-planned succession that names Chief Revenue Officer Jose Luis Crespo to lead the company—Marsh said the change is not linked to DOE funding cuts, with the firm adjusting its cost measures and securing new investments to support future growth.  Times Union

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bethlehem town officials evacuated Jiffy Lube and Hoffman Car Wash at 55 Delaware Avenue after engineers confirmed that continued slope movement poses an imminent threat to public safety. National Grid and Eastern Gas are relocating gas pipelines while town staff and property owners work to assess conditions and plan further safety measures—Delaware Avenue remains open.  Spotlight News
  • Lawmakers have criticized the Public Service Commission for letting utility companies earn high profits while rate hikes push National Grid bills up by about $22 a month—some proposals aim to cap the return on equity even if experts say lower profits would only trim a few dollars off bills. Utility executives plan to keep spending on grid upgrades that will pass more costs to consumers, adding fuel to the debate over utility regulation.  Times Union
  • Detained migrants in New York are held in temporary holding rooms that lack proper beds, showers, and full meals, causing harsh conditions at locations including the ICE facility in Malta near Albany—where detainees face delays in legal access and extended confinement. Federal agencies say the longer detentions are needed to manage high arrest volumes while attorneys report ongoing challenges in locating their clients.  Times Union

  • UAlbany’s women’s soccer team lost 1–3 to New Hampshire at Bob Ford Field at Tom and Mary Casey Stadium when Tamia Nelson’s 66th minute goal came too late to prevent two Wildcats’ scores—UAlbany will visit Binghamton on October 16 with a 6:07 p.m. kickoff.  University at Albany
  • UAlbany Great Danes won against Northeastern on Sunday by a score of 2 to 1 after defenders Jenna Zunic and Mara Küskes each scored a goal at Alumni Turf. The team will travel to Vermont on Oct 17 and host nationally ranked Yale on Oct 19.  University at Albany
