- ➤ The Christopher family donated a six-and-a-half-year-old Empire State Plaza Christmas tree from Ballston Lake after it had grown three times its original size and become too large to maintain near their home—now the Office of General Services will display it for the holiday season. - ➤ Bitchin Donuts has opened a temporary location on Delaware Avenue after a fire closed its Lark Street shop—its soft opening is today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a limited menu of drip coffee and donuts, and the business is planning a second location at 2008 Central Ave in Colonie. WRGB

- ➤ Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy said the Henry Johnson Charter School expressed interest in buying two key buildings from the former Saint Rose campus—namely the Science Building at 993 Madison Avenue and Albertus Hall at 432 Western Avenue—to relocate its operations and spark local educational growth. The purchase is part of the county’s plan to repurpose vacant properties and create a revitalized campus for future use. WRGB
- ➤ SUNY Schenectady started a new FAA program that gives students a two-year course to learn air traffic control—this lets them skip the 4-to-6-month academy in Oklahoma City and practice more slowly. The students, who began in September and will train on simulators in spring, remain eager to help fill industry job shortages despite challenges from the recent shutdown. ABC NEWS 10

- ➤ A public workshop on Tuesday night in Niskayuna outlined plans to improve safety on Route 7 after a deadly crash two months ago—more than 100 residents attended—and experts proposed reducing speeds, adding raised medians and new crosswalks. ABC NEWS 10
- ➤ Records show that millions were wasted on expired PPE stored in warehouses in Amsterdam, Geneva and Dutchess County — the state spent two million dollars to dispose of the items. Officials said that 452.8 million dollars spent on durable medical equipment resulted in only three of 247,000 items being used. WRGB
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Albany Medical Center said its Melodies Center for youth care received a $1.8 million donation (from the Nicholas T. Mancinelli Family Trust) on Monday. The donation will support care for over 1,500 children and teens with cancer and blood disorders each year. ABC NEWS 10
- ➤ Local singer-songwriter Lil Josiey from Perth turned his struggles with addiction and loss into a mission to raise mental health awareness as he uses music to help others. This December he will release his song Christmas in Heaven + honor friends lost to addiction while inspiring teens to speak up about their challenges. ABC NEWS 10
