Dr. Kurunthachalam Kannan , is a well-renowned environmental health researcher, with a focus on understanding human exposure to environmental and dietary chemicals. His presentation will narrow in on micro(nano)plastics pervasive in global water sources, and their direct & indirect threats to water quality; warranting a deeper understanding of these implications for water security.

Kannan is a Professor in the College of Integrated Health Sciences & Department of Environmental Health Sciences as well as Deputy Director, Division of Environmental Health Sciences, and Chief, Laboratory of Organic Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, Wadsworth Center.
