- ➤ A 63-year-old man was injured when a black bear attacked him in his home in Cairo on Saturday around 8 p.m.—DEC trapped and humanely euthanized the bear following standard protocols, and the man was treated at a hospital and released the next day. ABC NEWS 10

- ➤ A 65-year-old man was shot in the back late Thursday on North Pearl Street near the Interstate 90 overpass and taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital in stable condition — police are investigating and searching for the suspect. Times Union
- ➤ Tymell Cooks, 36, pleaded guilty in federal court on Thursday to charges including conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl, cocaine and possessing firearms to protect his drug operations—sentencing is set for January 6th, 2026. WRGB

The petition, filed Wednesday as part of the college’s bankruptcy process, marks one of the final steps in closing the shuttered school and shifting its teach-out arrangements to other institutions.
